The $10,000 KECSAC grant is to help transition our students to be ready for life after high school. The money was used for seeds, plant starts and plugs, fertilizer with meters, potting soil, flats, trays, pots, hanging pots, and germination mats. The money was also used to purchase 6 Dell Inspiron laptop computers and to help pay for the credit recovery instructor for summer school.
Ramey-Estep's Greenhouse is up and running again. The grant will allow our students to work with plant life. The six computers will aid in the credit recovery of our at-risk youth. The hope is for our youth to see that education--not crime--is the key to the future.
