Superintendent Letter to BCPS Families January 11, 2022

January 11, 2022

Dear BCPS Families,

Early today, members of the BCPS Administration Team met to discuss the current issues we are facing with the COVID-19 pandemic. As you know, our incidence rates are currently very high in Boyd County, and the number of positive cases and quarantines among our staff and students continue to climb.

Currently, we are seeing approximately 14% of our students out of the classroom, due to quarantine and isolation. Our school level staff members (certified/classified) absent, today, reached an all-time high of 71.

In an effort to slow these issues, BCPS will move to NTI on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. Students will return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18th, due to the MLK Holiday on Monday, January 17th. BCPS staff members will be sending home appropriate devices and/or paper learning materials with their students today.

Meals will be available for parent pick-up at your child’s school on Thursday, January 13thParents must call cafeteria managers on Wednesday, January 12th, by 1:00 p.m. to have students put on the list for meals.  Each student will receive three days of breakfast and lunch. If you have children enrolled at multiple schools, you can pick up at one location, but you must give their name and school of enrollment to the cafeteria manager on Wednesday.
