Dear BCPS Families,
It is time to review the district’s Comprehensive District Improvement Plan (CDIP). Our school district values the feedback of our stakeholders. As we complete the review/revision process, we ask for your help in identifying priority needs and sharing ideas for strategies and activities that will help improve student achievement.
In brief, continuous improvement should involve reviewing data, diagnosing needs, setting goals, and planning strategies that can be deployed through actionable steps or activities. When schools/districts concern themselves solely with compliance, they have lost the spirit of continuous improvement.
The process we used last year gave us some great feedback from our stakeholders, so the district has made the decision to continue using a virtual platform to gather feedback. Linked in this letter, you will find three resources. The first is the 2020-2021 Comprehensive District Improvement Plan, which contains progress monitoring notes for you to review. The second resource provides spring 2021 state assessment data information. The third resource is a form for you to fill out to provide feedback and possible suggestions for strategies and activities the district might consider. Please fill out this form by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3.

In closing, when implemented with fidelity, the Comprehensive District Improvement Plan (CDIP) cultivates an environment that promotes student growth and achievement. We look forward to your feedback and support. If you have any questions, please contact Janice Marcum, Chief Academic Officer, at 606-928-4141.
