Dear Boyd County Families,
I hope your child is having a great first week of school. As we navigate our “new normal,” I understand that teaching and learning online continues to be a learning curve for everyone. With that being said, I know every child learns differently and our school district wants to provide the best remote learning environment possible for your child’s individual needs. As you know, we are offering a “grace period” for families to switch the learning option (virtual academy or traditional/NTI) you initially chose for the school year.
If you would like to change the learning option you chose for your child, either virtual academy or traditional/NTI, you can begin doing so by filling out the electronic document attached to this link: https://forms.gle/FNhs3HQPGGgYdZbP6. Please note that the change will take 24 to 48 hours to take effect. At that time, someone from your child’s school will reach out to help get them started after they have switched learning options. As a reminder, if virtual academy is chosen, your child will be committed at least through the first semester. If traditional/NTI is chosen, your child will be receiving instruction from his or her teacher(s) online until the district moves back to in-person instruction.
Please do not contact your child’s school to request the change. We need all requests to come through the Google Form. If you contacted your child’s school before today, we are working on getting their learning option switched within the next 24 to 48 hours. All families have until September 23rd to fill out the Google Form for a change request.
Thank you for your cooperation.
