  • Shout out to Savannah Wheeler for being named the KDMC Female Player of the week.
  • Shout out to BCHS Baseball Team for collecting jars of peanut butter for Christmas baskets.
  • Shout out to Roxanne Gross, Kiera Wilburn and all the staff and students who participated in the FMD Christmas Party.
  • Shout out to Mr. Johnson and the BCHS Band for putting on a wonderful performance at the Paramount Arts Center in December.
  • Shout out to Mr. Bowling and the BCHS Choir for putting on an outstanding performance at the Paramount Arts Center in December.
  • Shout out to Ms. Caniff and the BCHS YSC for organizing Christmas gifts and baskets for families in need.
  • Shout out to Mr. Majher, Mrs. Lemaster and Mrs. Fox for always being there for students.
  • Shout out to Ms. Nolen, Mrs. Lynch, Mr. Bowling and Mr. Johnson for organizing an excellent talent show.
  • Shout out to the staff and students at BCHS for coming back from Christmas break energized and ready to learn!
  • Shout out to Ricky Spears for soloing and working with the Jazz band January 2nd as they prepared for the KMEA Conference performance!  Mr. Spears has toured as a performer with Cirque du Soleil (in China), the Broadway touring production of Elf and he is a BCHS Alumnus!

  • Shout out to Janet Runnels’ Little Friends Daycare Staff for making extra accommodations for children before the Christmas break.
  • Shout out to Julie Helton’s class for the decorations at the Tech Center for Christmas.
  • Shout out to Ryan Meenach’s class for special project work at the Tech Center..

  • Shout out to the 6th grade for winning the Championship of the Boyd County Baseball Holiday Tournament in a New Year’s Day matchup with Ashland Middle.  They had to win two games coming out of the losers’ bracket!  Great job and congratulations!
  • Shout out to Jason Withrow for his help Tuesday!

  • Shout out to Ava Kazee for placing 1st in her age division in all five – 5K races she ran in December!
  • Shout out to the Cannonsburg Elementary PTA, we appreciate all that you do.

  • Shout out to the custodians for cleaning the building while we were on break
  • Shout out to the basketball coaches for holding practice over the Christmas break.

  • A BIG Shout out to Cindy Sullivan for organizing, rehearsing, and pulling off a fantastic Christmas concert at our Festival of Trees that included students from every grade in our school. It was a massive concert and she did a fantastic job!!!
  • Shout out to our maintenance crew for all the hard work in getting the gym floor installed over the break!
  • Shout out to our parents and volunteers for continuing to be the best in the district!

  • Shout out to our PTO for supplying the refreshments for the Science Fair.
  • Thank you James Townsend for stepping up and helping the kids with science projects and assisting with any task requested.
  • Thank you Rob Valentine, Jim Sheridan, Perry Christian, Officer Terry, Janice Marcum, and Mr. Boblett for judging the Science Fair.  
  • Shout out to Leah Valentine and Nicky Whitt for taking the lead on securing the judges and organizing the Science Fair.
  • Thank you Kelly Deborde for assisting with anything when asked.
  • Shout out to Jenny Caperton and Kelly Mills for securing boards for students that needed them.
  • Shout out to Sarah Gue helping organize the Science Fair.
  • Thank you Olivia Pennington for helping as needed.
  • I appreciate Scott Burchett for his help on several different occasions.
  • Thank you Matt Spade for always being there.
  • Shout out to Mandy Phillips and Jackie Brewer for being a great front office team.
  • Kelly Deborde for stepping up and running our SBDM elections for our minority representative.

  • Shout out to Marci Prater, DPP, for being inducted into the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership Cohort, what an honor.
  • Many thanks to BCPS bus driver Ms. Kim, the present for Kate was so sweet
  • A Big Shout Out and Thank you to the district employees, for the water donations for Martin County Kentucky.
  • Shout out to the students and staff of Ponderosa Elementary for their wonderful work with the Pennies for Ponderosa (California) campaign.
  • Shout out to two of the best board members in the Commonwealth. Randy Stapleton and Bob Green will be missed.
  • Shout out to our current board members, Dr. Nichols, Mrs. Day, Mrs. Pruitt, and Mrs. Stanley. I look forward to continued success and progress in 2019.
  • Shout out to Bob Higginbotham, we appreciate your leadership with our buildings and grounds department.
  • Shout out to Sam Williams, we appreciate your tech skills.
  • Thank you Dara Su Williams-Stevens, your work in the district and at BCHS is greatly appreciated.
  • Shout out to the BCHS Lady Lions Basketball team, your play over the Christmas break was exceptional.
  • Shout out to Cpt. Hansen and 1st Sgt. Meek, the ROTC program is outstanding!
  • Shout out to the BCHS and BCMS Wrestling teams, you all are continuing to get better with each meet.
  • Great work BCMS/BCHS Academic Teams, great things are on the way.
