Background & Mission:
Family Resource & Youth Services Centers began in 1990 as a result of the
Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA). The centers are designed to address
the needs of all families regardless of social, ethnic, and/or socioeconomic status.
All activities and programs are available to ALL families with children in the
school where the center is located.
Family Resource Center Goals include:
* promoting the healthy growth & development of ALL children
* assisting families to enhance parenting skills
* providing families access to needed community resources
* giving families opportunities to volunteer at school or in community events
Services/Programs Offered:
* Junior Achievement (classroom economic lessons)
* Parent University (FREE parent training-4 per year)
* Food Bank Referrals
* Readifest (August each school year)
* Summer Camps
* Red Ribbon Week (drug/alcohol prevention program)
* Dental Referrals
* Clothing Closet/Clothing Referrals
* Eye Glasses Referrals
* On-site Pathways Counseling
* Home visits
* Reading is Fundamental (RIF-3 FREE books each year)
* Crisis Intervention
* Terrific Kids (Student Recognition program)
