A Campaign to Increase School Attendance

Here’s what we’re doing

We're engaging community members as partners in the schools' efforts to:

  • Raise community awareness of the problem of student absenteeism

  • Improve attendance levels in public schools

  • Increase collaboration among all Boyd County Schools

  • Improve business and community relationships through collaboration

  • Develop TV campaign

Here’s how you can help
  • Join us in sharing information, tools, and responsibility for improving student attendance in our community

  • When you see youth on the streets or near your business during school hours, simply ask them, "Why Aren't You in School Today?"

  • Call your local district office 928-4141 to report locations where you repeatedly see youth congregating

Here are the tools you can obtain

  • A static sticker to display in your window to show your support of student school attendance and the Why Aren't You In School Today? campaign

  • A poster to display in your business or somewhere in your neighborhood

Click here to download and print the poster

  • A What To Do If... point sheet to assist you with positive dialogue with youth

  • A school calendar highlighting dates that each school in Boyd County is CLOSED
