Simple Giving Program Makes it SIMPLE to Give School Supplies

Boyd County Public Schools will again participate in the Simple Giving/Champion For Kids program. School supplies of any kind can be donated to BCPS by purchasing them at our Cannonsburg Walmart and dropping them in the bins.

We have been notified of a delay in the arrival of the displays and bins, but Walmart has agreed to collect donations in alternate boxes or carts until they arrive.

Please stop by the Cannonsburg Walmart anytime between July 7 and August 1st (or as long as the bins are there) to make your donation. All supplies will be distributed to our Family Resource and Youth Services Centers. THANK YOU!!!

BCMS Summer Campers Have Fun with Oobleck

Oobleck is a suspension of cornstarch and water that can behave like a solid or a liquid depending on how much pressure you apply. Try to grab some in your hand and it will form a solid ball in your palm just until you release the pressure, then it will flow out between your fingers. Materials that behave this way are classified as non-Newtonian substances.
