Hello! My name is Ashley Waddell and I am very excited about having the chance to work with your child this year. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. This is the beginning of my sixteenth year of teaching; however, it it is my twelfth year with the Boyd County Schools. I attended Morehead State University, where I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and then pursued my Master's Degree, which I received from Morehead. I also hold a Montessori certification through NAMC (North American Montessori Center).
Magan Hatfield is my teaching assistant, who will be working in the classroom this school year. Ms. Magan has been with Boyd County Schools for four years. She recently earned her CDA (Child Development Associate) this past year. Magan and I are very excited to get the year started.
I would like to talk about our goals for the school year. We believe every child can succeed and every child has something to offer. It is our job to help your child reach his or her full potential. We also teach with the thought that all children learn differently, and will perform at different levels. Therefore, your child will be exposed to many different activites in the classroom. This year will be an exciting year as we watch your child's first learning experience.
We believe communication between the teacher and parents/guardians is a very important key to a successful year and great achievemant with your child. Please call or email if there are any questions or concerns.
