Cooperative Education (Co-op) is a type of work-based learning. It consists of in-school instruction in a specific field within a program area combined with a paid-on-the-job experience in a related business or industry. Cooperative Education may be a component of any program area of Career and Technical Education or core classes including: agriculture, business education, child development, consumer sciences, culinary arts allied health, marketing, information technology, industrial education (i.e. automotive technology, drafting and welding) and pathway to careers. The student receives a wage for the work experience performed at the work site along with school credit..
