Let me give you a little back story on how this 9/11 tile thing came about....

Two summers ago, a group of us from Ponderosa took a trip to NYC.  While touring the city, Mrs. Biggs, Ms. Crowe, and I came accross tiles that had been painted by elementary school aged children after the events of 9/11.  It was a way for the children to express how they felt about the tragedy that had taken many lives.  The three of us were touched!  As we sat on this double decker tour bus looking at these tiles displayed for the city to see, we thought WE NEED TO DO THIS.
We brought the idea back to our school and everyone embraced it.  Last year we had a small ceremony and only the kindergarten and 5th grade participated in painting the tiles and displaying them for everyone to see.  This year, we have had a wonderful person graciously donate a tile for every student to paint on.  (Thank you SO MUCH DJ's Kitchen)  Our tiles will be displayed for everyone to see as they drive up to our school.  The students have been so touched by this and took this project very serious.  We here at Ponderosa are dedicated to never let these young children forget the price of being free.  We hope you are just as moved as we are.
