Six Word Stories

Here are a couple of mine:

My dogs are sneaky little raccoons.

I love to eat summer tomatoes.

I sometimes teach entirely by accident.

Love came late to the danceparty.

My mom gave me my confidence.

Welcome Back

Welcome to English 4!

As we have discussed in class, this course is designed to meet the standards set by the state for senior English.  It has the particular mission of addressing the needs of students who are striving to improve their college/career ready status.

We will read and write regularly in this course, though I will always make the assignments meaningful and useful to your goals as a student and a rising graduate of Boyd County High School.

My advice to you as you begin your senior year is pretty simple:

1.  Come to school. (Good attendance is *proven to improve not only grades, but also how well you learn.) 2. Be prepared for class. (You are supposed to be an active participant in the learning process.  Learning only works if you get involved!) and 3. Believe in what you can do, instead of worrying about what you can't do. (I promise you, you CAN do so much more if you believe you can.)

It was nice to meet you all and see some of you again.  I am very much looking forward to working with you.  I am confident we are going to do great things together.
