Welcome to Boyd County Public Schools. The Board recognized our track team's accomplishments. Pictured above, left to right, Reese Robinson, who was named to the 2017 Daily Independent All-Area Track team as well as named the 2017 Male Athlete of the Year; Clayton McClelland was named the 2017 Track Coach of the Year; and Peyton Henderson who was also named to the All-Area Track Team. Others who were honored, but couldn't attend were:  Hunter Kenser, Eric Sparks, Ray Humphrey, Cameron Taylor, Brandon Burroughs, Ethan Cox, Elijah Miller, Donaven Whitehead and McKenna Adkins. Richard Cyrus, former Safe Schools Director, poses with his retirement gift. He was honored with a luncheon at the district office. Thank you, Mr. Cyrus, for your service to Boyd County Schools! The wonderful young men pictured above were all named to the 2017 Daily Independent All-Area Baseball Team for their outstanding year. Pictured, left to right, are Peyton Marcum, Braden Wyatt, and Brandon Layne Four of our teachers had perfect attendance during the 16-17 school year. Three are pictured above with Superintendent Walter. They are, left to right:  Courtney Brickey, Gregory Preston, and Tanya Queen. Christine Gindlesperger, not pictured, also had perfect attendance and, through a random drawing, was the winner of a classroom set of Chromebooks! A surprise Fred Factor Award winner... Superintendent Brock Walter was named as the Fred of the Month for May 2017. Several Principals were on hand to present the award: left to right - Ann Brewster (Ramey-Estep), Ben Maynard (Summit), Brock Walter, Matt Spade (Ponderosa), and Thomas Holbrook (BCHS). Anna Nimmo, student at BCMS, won a state contest sponsored by KHEAA called Dream Out Loud.  She was one of 8 winners across the state with over 1,100 entries.  She has won $1,000 for her college education and $500 for BCMS. BCMS Adrianna "Annie" White, left, was honored at the Ashland Breakfast Kiwanis for her winning Mother's Day essay.
