BCPS Employment Requirements
All Prospective Employees
All prospective employees are required to have a physical and criminal background check before starting to work.
All certified positions require the specific certification for the said position.
Instructional Assistants/Program Assistants - must have a high school diploma/GED and 48 college hours or pass the paraeducator exam given at BCPS District Office.
Instructional Monitor - must have a high school diploma/GED and have a TB skin test with the physical exam.
Cooks - must have a high school diploma/GED and attend Food Service training provided by BCPS.
Custodians - must have a high school diploma/GED and attend Facilities training provided by BCPS.
Bus Drivers - must have a CDL bus driver license and CDL physical exam.
Bus Monitors - must have a high school diploma/GED.
Substitute Teachers - must have a minimum of 64 college hours and attend sub training provided by BCPS.
Other Substitutes - must have a high school diploma/GED.
