KDE SEEKING FEEDBACK ON REVISED READING AND WRITING STANDARDS
(Frankfort, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is seeking feedback on the revised Kentucky Academic Standards for Reading and Writing, formerly known as English/language arts standards. The department has renamed the standards to align with the provisions of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Senate Bill 1 (2017).
Through Tuesday, June 12, anyone interested is invited to review the revised Kentucky Academic Standards for Reading and Writing to share feedback and suggestions for use during the remaining development process of the new reading and writing standards. Feedback and comments will be thoughtfully considered and any needed revisions made before taking a final set of proposed standards to the Kentucky Board of Education for action later this year. If approved, the new reading and writing standards would take effect in the 2019-20 school year.
Go online to provide feedback (https://www.research.net/r/KDEELA3) on the Kentucky Academic Standards for Reading and Writing.
Due to the amount of text within the survey, it is recommended that surveys be completed on a full-size computer or laptop.
Questions on this process can be directed to the standards emailbox (firstname.lastname@example.org).
