Week of October 9, 2017

From the desk of Mr. Holbrook-Boyd County High School

  • S/O to Mrs. Duncan, Mr. McDonie, and Mrs. Jackson for the awesome Fiesta Day celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Tuesday. We had over 300 Elementary and Middle School students participate. Special Thanks for Boyd’s Bistro for supplying staff to help distribute lunch and Tres Hermanos for providing enough chips and salsa to feed 500 people!
  • S/O to all those who participated in the Walk for Hope event Saturday the 7th at Ashland Riverfront.
  • S/O to Mrs. Fitch and Mrs. Osborne for putting kids first and making the safety of our students #1 priority.
  • S/O to Officer Wechsler and Mr. Boblett for always being there when called upon to keep our kids/staff safe.

From the desk of Mrs. Fitch-Boyd County Middle School

  • S/O to all the staff at BCMS for always being flexible and helping each other out when needed!  They are always willing to lend a helping hand.
  • S/O to Summit Elementary for hosting the BCPS principals and allowing us to see all the awesome learning happening at their school.  Plus, a huge thanks for supporting our academic team fundraiser by grabbing their lunch at Texas Roadhouse!
  • S/O to the bus drivers for being patient on Monday!  We appreciate them.
  • S/O to students at BCMS and Ponderosa for winning the region KY High Attendance Day!
  • S/O to my BCMS Cross Country Team!  They are headed to state!!!!!

From the desk of Mr. Stevens –Cannonsburg Elementary

  • S/O to Cannonsburg ESS program that started on Monday, Excellent participation!
  • S/O to the Boyd County Rotary Club for delivering Cannonsburg 3rd graders dictionaries. The students were so excited.
  • S/O to kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade for participating in Fire Prevention Week on Thursday.   STOP  DROP AND ROLL students were excited to see fire trucks and firefighters.
  • S/O to our Family Resource Center, the Food drive is going great. 
  • S/O to Cannonsburg PTO for organizing a spectacular Fall Festival on Saturday.
  • S/O to all of our Grandparents for attending our grandparent luncheon.  
  • S/O to all Cannonsburg staff.  You are the best.

From the desk of Mr. Eerenberg-Ponderosa Elementary

  • S/O to Braedon Dotson (6 years old) he won the Archery National Championship.
  • S/O to Ray Terry (2nd grade) he told kids about the National bring your Bible to school day.
  • S/O to our new Secretary, Yolanda Govey, she took Ms. Ann Slone-Withrow’s place when Ann retired.
  • Organ Annie is at our school once a week to talk to the kids about being healthy.

  • Big shout out to our elementary teachers for putting together a great field trip to Imel’s Greenhouse!
  • Big shout out to Cindy Sullivan for her work with our kids for the Hispanic Heritage Festival and for being a good sport!!!
  • Big shout out to Julie Thornbury for cooking for our guests during the learning walks! It was great!

  • S/O to Trisha Bayes and Nancy Miller for participating in the #RACK 5-K
  • S/O to Sarah Reapsummer for passing her PRAXIS
  • S/O to ALL the ECLC Staff for being flexible and supportive and ensuring that the Fire Safety Activities were safe and enjoyable.
  • S/O to the Cannonsburg Fire Department and HealthNet for volunteering their time to teach our children about fire safety.
  • S/O to Tim Back for helping ECLC create a Plan B in case inclement weather put a damper on our Fire Safety Activities!

  • Awesome fund raiser kick off on Tuesday
  • S/O to Mrs. Rudie for organizing the Author event on Wednesday
  • Our Kindergarten kids had an awesome time at Imel’s Greenhouse on Thursday.
